Obama Wants to Allow States to Set Stricter Emissions Standards

Wait a minute, I thought keeping the car companies from going out of business was important to the economy?  Didn't we just dump a bunch of money in their laps for that very purpose?  Now Obama is going to let states set higher emissions standards then even the EPA recommends, possibly costing car companies billions of dollars.

Let me just say, I have no problem with states deciding things on their own.  I just wish Obama would be more consistent.  He's trying to get waivers for states that want to set stricter emission standards than the EPA recommends.  Great, next should be waivers to states who want to set stricter limits on protecting human life than Roe v. Wade recommends.
